It was easy to see how a Facebook account would help with marketing efforts. And you can probably come up with regular 40-character Tweets to engage with the online community. But other social media channels can be less straightforward when it comes to business marketing. Instagram, anyone? It’s just a photo sharing sites for mothers and grandmas, right?

Giving up on Instagram means giving up on new and inventive ways to connect and engage with potentially large sectors of your target market. Instead, use Instagram to help grow your business.
Here are some tips for using Instagram to market your business in a whole new (visual) way.
Read their blog. Instagram has their own blog for businesses (smart move, Instagram!) to help educate their business users on the best ways to optimize their platform for business marketing. Subscribe to it and learn.
Use their video function. One of the reasons (we suspect) Instagram videos seem to perform better than Vine’s – they’re 15-seconds long. That’s more than two-times Vine video lengths, giving you more time to convey your message or tell a story. We recommend posting Instagram video in blogs or website pages.
Follow your followers. It’s a good idea to follow trending brands, but it’s also a good idea to follow your followers. You will be able to engage with them more intimately and will gain more personal insight as to who they are, what they’re interested in, etc. (all part of buyer persona development).
